In 2001 Ben Kweller became ATO Records's first worldwide signing and released a 5-track EP entitled EP Phone Home. In March 2002, Sha Sha, Kweller's first solo studio LP was released. Sha Sha included the very radio-friendly and popular single "Wasted & Ready" which reached #29 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart. The album featured John Kent on drums, Josh Lattanzi on bass, and showcased a wide variety of sound from Quirky Pop, to Folk, to Punk[4]. The album grew in popularity with a grassroots effort based on his website and a promotion group called teamBK, which promoted via word-of-mouth advertising. To support the release of the album and EP, he put together a live band, initially comprising Lattanzi on bass, Fred Eltringham on drums, and Mike Stroud on guitar and keyboards. Towards the end of the Sha Sha album cycle, the four-piece performed on PBS's Austin City Limits

They are primarily known in their home country, having topped the charts with the 2006 single America and its parent self-titled album, their second.
At the beginning of their career Johnny Borrell's new outfit began by supporting The Libertines at various venues (including 333 in Old Street) where a young A&R scout, Justin Cross, found them and put them in Liam Watson's Toerag Studios where he produced the tracks "Rip It Up", "Rock 'n' Roll Lies" and "In The City" alongside John Fortis. Off the back of these tracks the band (now named Razorlight) began getting serious A&R heat due to the songs' success on radio stations such as John Kennedy Show on XFM.
Slipway FiresAfter many months of producing new material, some of which was written on the Isle of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, Razorlight released their third studio album, Slipway Fires, on November 3rd 2008 with the lead single, "Wire To Wire", being released on October 20th 2008.
The album's first single, "Wire To Wire", was played for the first time on BBC Radio 1 by Zane Lowe on September 8th 2008.[4]
The band have confirmed that the next single to be taken from Slipway Fires will be "Hostage of Love"; it is due to be released on January 12th 2009.

The song God Knows was featured in FIFA 06. Their main fan base is in Sweden, Germany and Japan.

The roots of Mando Diao date back to 1995 when Bj**rn Dixg**rd and the former Mando Diao-member Daniel Haglund were in a band called Butler. Band members came and went and four years later the rest of the current line-up decided to take that project more seriously. Bj**rn Dixg**rd and Gustaf Norén locked themselves up in a summer house and spent 14 months writing songs. They claim the Beatles as their original source of inspiration. Actually, Gustaf joined after he and Bj**rn had talked all night about them. The two renamed their band Mando Diao. According to the band, the name has no particular meaning, and it appeared to band member Bj**rn Dixg**rd in a dream.
