Dangerous Workaholics------

Dangerous Workaholics

Most people work eight hours or so every day because they need to make money to support their family. They work not because they like it but that they have to, so they often complain and count the minutes until stopping work or holidays. On the contrary, there are some people who enjoy work so much that they often spend extra time on their job even take work home with them. They are so crazy about work just as some people are about drugs or alcohol. They can’t do without work. These people are called workaholics.
In some urban cities, work holism is so common that people do not regard it as unusual. It is said that many workaholics in New York City went to work when there are no electricity, no air conditioning, no elevators or lights in the year 1977. Workaholics prefer to work rather than do anything else because they don’t know how to entertain and they dislike sitting there without dong anything. They don’t know how to kill time if they don’t work. They can only get pleasure from work. Work is everything for them.
As a result, work holism can cause some problems. First of all, they often have health problems because they don’t have time to relax and keep themselves occupied all the time. Secondly, their family life is not happy since they spend little time with their family. Their marriage often ends in divorce. So work holism is dangerous in a sense.

Here are some tips for installing the habit of lifelong learning:

1) Always have a book.
Always strive to(努力) have a book that you are reading through, and take it with you so you can read it when you have time.
The Real Meaning of Peace

The Real Meaning of Peace

There once was a king who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The king looked at all the pictures. But there were only two he really liked, and he had to choose between them.

One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful towering(adj.高耸的)mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy(adj. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.

The other picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged(adj. Above was an angry sky, from which rain fell and in which lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled(v.翻滚) a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all.

But when the king looked closely, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest — in perfect peace.

Which picture do you think won the prize? The king chose the second picture. Do you know why?

“Because,” explained the king, “peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace.”

      在一片片青绿的山水之间，玄真景区的巨大停车场和酒店映入眼帘，细看在半山腰上还点缀着各种各样的游乐项目，让人仿佛置身世外桃源一般。我们更换好服装后，就来到了漂流的起点。据导游说，这条河道全长3.8公里，共有30多处落差，多个缓冲水潭，让游人休息打水战，全程下来需要70多分钟。河道水质清澈，温和清凉，还糅合了勇士漂、探险漂、回旋漂、奔驰漂、瀑布漂等全国主要的五种特色漂流，可以一站式体验。

      按照工作人员的指示，穿上救生衣就准备上漂流船了。漂流船一男一女搭配，我们还购买了水瓢，雨衣等准备打水仗时用。一到船上，就遇到一个很陡的坡，顿时尖叫声，水花声，笑骂声，一时间飞舞起来。河水清澈见底，两岸峰恋叠翠，沿途众多景点，惊而无险，一路上我尽情的享受着漂流的快乐。我们顺着水流时而急驶，时而缓步，只见野花盛开，蜻蜓点水，好一处迷人的自然风光。让我不由得想起“两岸猿声蹄不住，轻舟已过万重山”的诗句。在水中嬉戏玩耍，让我找回了童年的快乐，暂时忘却了生活的烦恼，工作的压力，在这里你可以尽情的释放。此时，阳光高照，清清的河水，荡漾着点点橡皮船，时而蝴蝶飞舞，时而野鸭鸣叫，时而飞鸟低旋，水声，欢笑声汇在一起，共同演奏着一曲曲和谐的音乐。这么迷人的风景，怎不让人留恋驻足。

      正当我们欣赏美景时，前方又遇到一个大的险滩。浪花四射，水花满天，我仰坐在船舱里，水从后背灌满整个身体，随后浪花一层赶似一层，我们欢呼雀跃，真是痛快淋漓……. 一路飘下去，河道比较狭窄，只能过一只漂流船，但两边都是石头砌成的，小船碰到上面，就会颠簸而起。到了水流不是很急的地方，就有很多船在哪里打水仗，因为当时没带眼镜，所以只顾低头拿着水瓢向临船的主人使劲泼水，浑身被水浸透的感觉真是畅快淋漓。

      我们划过险滩，漂流也接近了尾声，我们恋恋不舍的走上了岸，一个多小时的漂流历程，我感受的是大自然尽情的对我们的恩赐，享受着阳光的沐浴，河水的亲昵，同时我收获更多的是友谊，是快乐，是一种内心深处的愉悦。

style="font-family:'Times';line-height:1.8em;">I：哈哈哈，（原来如此）那爸爸怎么是个“葫芦娃”了？

<wbr
