出自爱尔兰乐队Altan的唱片集The Blue Idol，歌曲改编自民歌The Bonny Boy或称The Trees They Do Grow High







Altan乐队成立二十余年至今，几乎已经成为了爱尔兰传统音乐的代名词，在欧洲地区家喻户晓。Altan乐队由6名音乐家组成，分别演奏具有爱尔兰特色的小提琴、长笛、风琴等乐器，虽然组成人员并不多，但音乐家之间始终保持着爱尔兰音乐家传统的师徒相传的教育模式，使最具有爱尔兰风格的音乐得以保持与流传。1996年，Altan乐队与欧洲的维真唱片公司签约，成为第一支与大厂牌唱片公司签约的爱尔兰风格乐队。随后，他们的唱片多次获得金唱片和白金唱片奖项，随之而来的世界范围的巡演更为他们增添了广泛的声誉。他们现在的演奏已不只是局限在爱尔兰音乐，而是扩展到了摇滚、蓝调、爵士乃至乡村音乐等多种范畴，这些不同风格的音乐在他们具有浓厚的爱尔兰特色的手法演奏之下，更加具有别样的风情。也许正因为此，Altan乐队在新世纪里焕发出了崭新的活力。美国BILLBORD排行榜曾这样评价Altan乐队：“Altan乐队演奏的音乐不属于任何音乐分支，他们所做的是打破民族音乐、世界音乐与摇滚音乐之间的一切文化隔阂。”

这首ALTAN的凯尔特歌曲，自然淳朴如清水出芙蓉，深深打动我的，是父女俩对话般的吟唱以及歌中那种仿佛已经渗入骨髓的忧伤。
爱尔兰风笛,似乎特别适合演奏悲伤的旋律,歌曲中不时穿插着的风笛声,逐步把乐曲推向高潮,也逐步把我推向忧伤的旋涡,难以自拔:
一个女子在年轻的时候由于父亲的安排,嫁给了一个比她小10岁的显贵的子弟，她开始担心自己的年龄有一天会成为感情悲剧的主因，她埋怨父亲错误的将自己嫁给了一个比她小很多的男子。后来，她渐渐的爱上了他。她送他去上学，为他裹了蓝色的头巾，她怕别人抢走父亲为自己选定依存的真爱。婚后第二年，他们有了自己的孩子，而她的夫君却也还是一个孩子，在一天天的长大。然而命运的捉弄，却使她很快成了寡妇，在为爱人缝制寿衣的时候，她的悲哀成了整个曲子的灵魂……

呵，感觉和从前的收音机头越靠越近了，尤其在这张"Lady Sleep"中的某些曲目，一直到"10.Yeah, Eventually She Goes"一曲变得赤裸和一发不可收，当然，我无从去考证他与Radiohead之间的关系如何，这只是作为一个乐迷的主观感受而已。全碟下来，一如既往的干净温暖，比之从前，似乎更加注重内心的挖掘了，第一曲"Birch"有着明亮的古典钢琴点缀，而高潮处，就像前面说的，难免令人联想起Radiohead。其后的诸如"Anaesthesia","Summer days In Bloom","Everything Inside Me Is Ill","Snow"等曲子均为甜蜜温馨佳品，实在让人讶异于这个帅气的男人如斯敏感的心路以及如同泉涌般的创作才情。
