If you start the server from the Windows services, the Domino server changes the date format to mm/dd/yyyy.

If you check the regional settings on the Windows server, it is set to English with a short date of dd/mm/yyyy.
Note: This problem does not occur with a US English Domino server. That is why it works properly when you start the Domino server from the Programs menu.

When Domino is started as a Service, it is running as a system process, so Windows does not check what the time format of your user ID is.

when you run Domino as a service.

在使用Notes的过程中，发现使用低版本的Notes无法打开高版本的Notes的数据库，这是为什么呢？
主要是Notes 的ODS问题。
ODS：On Disk Structure 是Notes数据库在硬盘上的存取格式，不同版本的Notes具有不同的格式，以下表格是各个Notes数据库版本的ODS：

一般情况，在Domino Administrator中，选中数据库，压缩，然后选择“保留或转换数据库格式到R4格式”（我自己在Domino5.0下面测试的）

这是一种方法。利用这种方法可以达到目的。低版本的Notes可以打开数据库。
如果没有Domino Administrator 不能压缩，怎么办？下面介绍另外一种方法：
首先介绍Notes数据库的后缀名：
DSK： R5版本的桌面数据库的后缀名；
ND6： R6 的数据库后缀；
NS5： R5的数据库后缀；
NS4： R4 的数据库后缀。
如果我们在客户端，想把一个数据库降级成低版本数据库格式的，可以这样做：
右键数据库；新建Copy：在保存文件的时候，默认的后缀名是.NSF ，这里改成NS4，也就是要保存成R4格式的数据库。保存完毕后，点击确定。

现在来检查数据库是否已经降级成低版本的数据库。主要是根据数据库的ODS版本来确认。
现在看一下保存前和保存后的数据库的ODS级别：
以前的数据库的ODS是 41， 也就是说数据库是R5 格式的。

也可以找一张Windows 2000或Windows XP的安装盘，进入命令行模式，
从光盘的i386文件夹下使用（假设光驱的盘符是d盘）

expand D：\i386\ir32_32.dl_ C：\windows\system32\ir32_32.dll
expand D：\i386\iccvid.dl_ C：\windows\system32\iccvid.dll

这两个命令解压缩动态链接库文件。

2.打开注册表编辑器，找到
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

在右侧窗口
先新建一个vidc.cvid的字符串值，将其设为iccvid.dll
再新建一个vidc.iv31的字符串值，将其设为ir32_32.dll
再新建一个vidc.iv32的字符串值，将其设为ir32_32.dll

或者直接导入如下代码，将其保存为 *.reg ，如1.reg
