He is my good teacher and a helpful friend indeed!
Andy Dufresne ,as a assistant manager of a famous bank ,have a promising future in his occupation ;while Lucky in career ,unlucky to love .His wife wanted to divorce with him for her heart having given another man who could take more care of her .Leaving from him made Andy mad ,he couldn’t control his mind ,and wanted to kill both of them .But Andy give up it .However ,the next day he knew that his wife and the third man were killed .The police suspected Andy was the killer .Andy couldn’t give evidence against it ,at last Andy was sentenced to imprisonment for life .During the time in the prison named Shaw Shank , Andy suffered more than did in his original normal live .Andy was not a man giving up all the hope .He tried his best to make new friends ,redevelop a habit of carving rock .One time ,Andy used his knowledge of tax to help the Chief Warder and got a chance to supply fresh beer for his new friends ,but he did not drink instance of smiling .while his best friend Red read his mind ,he knew Andy only wanted these guys didn’t forget the hope and freedom. By and by, Andy changed the job in the permit of governor, as a manager of library .Indeed; Andy started to report tax returns for all the turnkeys and launder money for governor .He also managed to get money from the governor of the state and rebuilt the library. Andy never forgot to the soul of our baptism and made everyone remembered the freedom and hope .Once Andy got new record of music ,he played it through the air to share with all of hopeless prisoner and got a one week’s encage at last .All of this cost Andy nineteen years .In the nineteenth year in Shaw Shank ,a new young comer enrolled in his life ,he helped him finish his study and get a degree .It was the new comer ,he knew the true killer for his wife and the third man ,Andy told all the thing about he knew to the governor and wanted to reopen the case ,Andy could justify him innocence and get free .While the governor killed the new comer in secret and warned Andy that he would stay there for all his life time and made live no better than to die .After two months of encage ,Andy had completely changed a person ,he might think he had wasted nineteen years in here .He refused to talk with his friends and always stayed one place alone at first .Red tried to talk him and got to know that Andy would leave him ,of course ,he thought Andy would kill himself .Andy wanted Red to do a favor to find a place after released ,where hid something to him .The last night ,Andy used to finish the ‘help’ to his governor and go to his jail cell ;Red was very afraid of him as he had known that Andy got a six-feet rope .The next day ,when jailors checked the list and found a miracle :Andy disappeared from his room ,and they found a hole on the wall covered by a poster .Soon after the governor killed himself for his scandal ;Red got released at his fortieth years in the Shaw Shank ,he tried to live a normal life as a worker in a supermarket ;but he found it too hard ,yes ,he extremely knew that he has been ‘institutionalization’ .Then he wanted to follow his friend Andy words and got the place ,found out the hidden box leaving for him .It contained a letter and some money ,after red the letter ,Red decided to go his friend Andy` hideout and start his new life ...

“Oh, Andy loved geology. I imagine it appealed to his meticulous nature. An ice age here million years of mountain building there. Geology is the study of pressure and time. That’s all it takes ,really. Pressure and time. That and a big goddamn poster. Like I said in prison, a man will do anything to keep his mind occupied. Seems Andy’s favorite hobby was toting his wall out into the exercise yard a handful at a time. I guess after Tommy was killed Andy decided he had been here long enough.”
Part D:
“Andy did like he was told. Buffed those shoes to a high mirror-shine. The guards simply didn’t notice. Neither did I. I mean, seriously how often do you really look at a man’s shoes? ”
Part E:
“Andy crawled to freedom through 500 yards of shit-smelling foulness I can’t even imagine. Or maybe I just don’t want to. Five hundreds yards. That’s the length of five football fields. Just shy of half a mile.”
“when I picture him heading south in his own car with the top down , it always makes me laugh. Andy Dufresne who crawled through a river of shit and came out clean on the other side. Andy Dufresne headed for the Pacific.”
Part F:
“Rehabilitated? Well, now, let me see. I don’t have any idea what that means.”…”I know what you think it means ,sonny. To me ,it’s just a make-up word. A politician’s word so that young fell as like yourself can wear a suit and a tie and have a job. What do you really want to know? Am I sorry for what I did? ”…”There’s not a day goes by I don’t feel regret. Not because I`m in here or because you think I should. I look back on the way I was then a young stupid kid who committed that terrible crime. I want to talk to him, I want to try and talk some sense to him. Tell him the way things are. But I can’t. That kid’s long gone and this old man is all that’s left. I got to live with that. Rehabilitated? It’s just a bullshit word. So you go on and stamp your forms, sonny, and stop wasting my time. Because to tell you the truth I don’t give a shit.”
