雨停了，同样大小每天相对的天空和大地，大地上多了越来越多的楼房，越来越多的人，而天空却不见彩虹的踪影，蓝色的忧郁给每个抬头仰望它的人一种凝重。
小时候看的第一个电影片段，一群美国小孩，骑着自行车，蹬着滑板，用不同颜色的眼睛望着彩虹，喊着：hey quick,cone on it's going ! 他们穿越大街小巷，纷杂市区，只是为了看见彩虹的尽头。

切斯特解释说：“我想出了乐队的名字，因为在开始制作这张专辑时，我在参加聚会...我们就称它为聚会。这其实没有多少乐趣，但是我们还是常常参加聚会。有很多次我在那里到了真正自我摧残的程度，有时你是感觉不知道你是否能活到第二天了。乐队名字就是来自那种生活方式，而要出专辑的名称《Out of Ashes》就是那种走出自我摧残之路的感觉，可以说是从灰烬中重生。”
跟该专辑的大部分歌曲一样，最近在加利福尼亚州的瓦斯奎兹岩石自然公园拍摄MV的《Crawl Back In》就是很黑暗的：充分的搅拌，燃烧，垃圾吉他。但它不是漆黑的：它是抒情的，这首歌的细节透露了切斯特的缓慢回升，那种重新自我发现的回归历程。
切斯特说：“这是一首对你的本源提出问题的歌。我过段时间就做一次。我不知道有多少我的想法真正的是我自己的，有多少是周围的人对我的影响。这张专辑类似的东西还有很多。这的确是一个比较黑暗的一面，同时也是有一个明亮的方面。有的歌关于爱，有的歌关于恨。这是非常奇怪的组合。这也代表了我过去几年中的生活——很棒的时刻和糟糕的时刻都同时发生过。”
显然大多数很棒的时刻是他在林肯公园乐队的时光。但是他也不怕林肯公园会受到他新项目的影响。
切斯特说：“我认为在林肯公园时，我们的每首歌或者每张专辑之间都很不同，我也不得不去担心粉丝喜欢听到的音乐，而只是写我喜欢的音乐。我觉得如果你太多考虑不了解你的外界的意见，肯定会痛苦至极，来满足他们的需求，那是非常危险的境地。我不想成为那种只是重复一种歌来让歌迷来买的反面典型。我喜欢尝试新的东西，失去或者获得一些粉丝，而不是就是那群歌迷。你不能让每个人满意。”
虽然新专辑《Out of Ashes》9月即发行，不过切斯特仍不忘他在林肯公园的主唱之职。其实他在试图一人分干两活。
